CHALLENGE
The challenge was simple; build brand awareness and produce engaging content to drive Dupli-Color’s social media presence. All content would follow Dupli-Color’s tagline, “Yes You Can, In Your Garage” and be accessible to automotive enthusiasts of all types.
SOLUTION
The solution was to support all new product launches, promotions, and media events with engaging social media content. Featured Promotions through the extended engagement included:
Dupli-Color Restoration Challenge
A march madness style bracket competition that put car guy restorations against each other head to head. A user could submit their restoration with photos, a story, and videos. Voters weighed in to determine the winner of each round. The winner won $10,000 and a trip to Las Vegas. This campaign was so successful that it had 3 different iterations.
Dupli-Color Scratch Fix All-in-One Product Launch
Partnered with PointRoll, an online ad campaign was launched on ESPN.com, Weather.com, and Cars.com. The extensive ad campaign included interactive rich media ads, video ads, and static ads whose content reflected the site the ad would be placed on. The ads also showcased how everything you needed to repair a scratch was in the pen.
The Garage Challenge: Dupli-Color vs. VHT
Hosted by automotive show personality Matt Steele, the 10 part webisode series showcased the restoration of 2 trucks and 2 teams; Dupli-Color and their sister company, VHT. Each team restored their truck with their respective product and the automotive world at large would vote to select the winning team.
RESULTS
The ongoing initiative has widely been considered extremely successful. Dupli-Color has reached 8.1 million youtube views, 30,000+ youtube subscribers and over 73,000 Facebook likes to date.
